December 1 (SeeNews) - Total foreign remittances to Serbia increased by 17.2% year-on-year to 2.584 billion euro ($2.919 billion) in the first nine months of 2021, central bank data shows.
In September alone, total foreign remittances to Serbia, including all current transfers between resident and non-resident households, rose by 4.3% on the year to 304 million euro, according to figures published by the central bank in a balance of payments report.
The remittances of citizens working abroad went up by 17.1% year-on-year in the first nine months of 2021 to 1.759 billion euro, the data showed.
The flow of foreign remittances into Serbia decreased to 3.12 billion euro in 2020 from 3.52 billion euro in 2019.
