BELGRADE (Serbia), September 19 (SeeNews) – Total foreign remittances to Serbia increased by 0.4% year-on-year to 1.957 billion euro ($2.165 billion) in the first seven months of 2019, central bank data shows.
In July alone, total foreign remittances to Serbia, including all current transfers between resident and non-resident households, grew by 9.3% on the year to 332 million euro, according to figures published by the central bank in a balance of payments report.
The remittances of citizens working abroad went down by 2.7% year-on-year in the first seven months of 2019 to 1.477 billion euro, after rising 5.6% on the year to 258 million euro in July, the data showed.
The flow of foreign remittances into Serbia increased to 3.43 billion euro in 2018 from 2.96 billion euro in 2017.
