BELGRADE (Serbia), August 27 (SeeNews) – Total foreign remittances to Serbia decreased by 1.2% year-on-year to 1.625 billion euro ($1.805 billion) in the first half of 2019, central bank data shows.
In June alone, total foreign remittances to Serbia, including all current transfers between resident and non-resident households, declined by 4.6% on the year to 295 million euro, according to figures published by the central bank in a balance of payments report.
The remittances of citizens working abroad went down by 4.3% year-on-year in the first half of 2019 to 1.219 billion euro, after declining 2% on the year to 237 million euro in June, the data showed.
The flow of foreign remittances into Serbia increased to 3.43 billion euro in 2018 from 2.96 billion euro in 2017.
