BELGRADE (Serbia), January 3 (SeeNews) – Total foreign remittances to Serbia decreased by 1.0% year-on-year to 2.868 billion euro ($3.197 billion) in the first ten months of 2019, central bank data shows.
In October alone, total foreign remittances to Serbia, including all current transfers between resident and non-resident households, fell by 11.2% on the year to 308 million euro, according to figures published by the central bank in a balance of payments report.
The remittances of citizens working abroad went down by 3% year-on-year in the first ten months of 2019 to 2.189 billion euro, after declining 13.7% on the year to 233 million euro in October, the data showed.
The flow of foreign remittances into Serbia increased to 3.43 billion euro in 2018 from 2.96 billion euro in 2017.
