April 17 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's defence ministry said on Wednesday that its 984 million levs ($567.4 million/503.1 million euro) tender for supply of two multi-functional modular Navy patrol ships has drawn bids from Germany's Fr. Lurssen Werft, Italy's Fincantieri and local company MTG Dolphin.
The offers will be opened on April 22 by a special working group tasked with their evaluation, the ministry said in a statement.
The project was updated last year, and the maximum purchase cost was increased by 164 million levs to 984 million levs.
The tender was initially launched in 2017, and Varna-based MTG Dolphin was selected in November of that year to sign a contract. In December 2017, however, MTG Dolphin withdrew from the negotiations with the government due to a cut in the maximum financing allocated to the project.
