SOFIA (Bulgaria), April 26 (SeeNews) – US automotive company Tesla announced plans to build its first “Supercharger” electric vehicle charging stations in six countries in Southeast Europe (SEE) by the end of the year.

Tesla will also add four new charging stations to its already existing two in Croatia.

“Superchargers” are connectors that charge Tesla vehicles multiple times quicker than other types of charging stations.

Since the introduction of the Supercharger network in 2012, Tesla has built over 5,400 “Superchargers” with the goal of enabling convenient long distance travel. The company intends to double their number globally to over 10,000.

Elsewhere in SEE, Tesla has already built three charging stations in Slovenia.

Tesla, founded in 2003, is a California-based automaker, energy storage company, and solar panel manufacturer specializing in electric cars, Lithium-ion battery energy storage and, through its SolarCity subsidiary, residential solar panels.
