June 7 (SeeNews) - US automotive company Tesla has installed a new Supercharger electric vehicle charging station in Croatia, in the town of Vrgorac, data on its website shows.
Currently Tesla runs three Supercharges in the country, but has plans to open three more in Zagreb, Slavonski Brod and Otocac by the end of this year, data on its company website reveals.
Vrgorac is located in the Split-Dalmatia County.
According to news portal Poslovni.hr, Tesla invested 2.5 million kuna ($379,900/337,400 euro) in the Vrgorac charger.
In April, Tesla announced plans to build its first three charging stations in Romania and Serbia each, and one in each of Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia and Moldova by the end of 2017.
Since the introduction of the Supercharger network in 2012, Tesla has built over 5,400 Superchargers with the goal of enabling convenient long distance travel. The company intends to double their number globally to over 10,000.
