September 23 (SeeNews) - The latest tender for the renovation of Slovenia's Hotel Brdo has attracted three bids, local media reported.
The offers were submitted by Slovenian construction firms CGP, Lesnina MG Oprema and Trgograd, state news agency STA reported on Tueday.
The procedure for awarding the contract is led by government-controlled company JGZ Brdo, which operates the hotel.
According to earlier media reports, the renovation works will cost some 10 million euro ($11.7 million) and should be completed in eight months.
Hotel Brdo has been closed since the middle of 2019, anticipating the start of its renovation, but several attempts to find a contractor have failed since then due to irregularities in the tender procedures.
The hotel is located at Brdo pri Kranju in northwestern Slovenia, on the territory of the Brdo estate, which has been administered by Slovenia's protocol office in the past 25 years. Slovenia's most important diplomatic protocol building Brdo Castle is also part of the estate.
The renovation of the Brdo Hotel is part of the preparation of the Brdo Estate to host the most important events of the Slovenian Presidency of the EU Council in 2021, JGZ Brdo says on its website.
Following the renovation, Hotel Brdo is expected to have a larger capacity - of 136 accommodation units, including two presidential apartments.
