June 5 (SeeNews) - Telenor Bulgaria, a unit of Norwegian telecommunications group Telenor, said on Monday it has appointed Ole Bjorn Sjulstad as CEO effective from August 1.
Sjulstad will replace Sasa Filipovic, who was appointed interim CEO on May 20, Telenor Bulgaria said in a press release.
Ole Bjorn Sjulstad joined Telenor in 2000 as vice president of the Asian regional office in Singapore. In the past two years, Sjulstad held the position of Chief Corporate Development Officer in Telenor Hungary.
Telenor bought Bulgarian mobile operator Globul from Greece's OTE for 717 million euro in 2013. In November 2014, Globul was rebranded to Telenor Bulgaria.
On the Bulgarian mobile segment, Telenor competes with Mtel, a unit of Telekom Austria, telecommunications group BTC, which operates under the brand name Vivacom, as well as 4G operator Max.
