June 30 (SeeNews) - Serbian state-controlled telecom operator Telekom Srbija said on Thursday it recorded a profit of 16.3 billion dinars ($146.3 million/132.1 million euro) for 2015.
The company provided no comparative figures, but according to previously released data, its consolidated net profit stood at 17.8 billion dinars in 2014.
Telekom Srbija's operating revenue rose 4.2% last year to 93.3 billion dinars, the company said in an emailed statement.
Its investments surged 64% on the year to 20.1 billion dinars in 2015, the highest since 2010.
Telekom Srbija said it will pay a total of 12.3 billion dinars in gross dividend, of which the Serbian government, as the biggest shareholder, will get 8.9 billion dinars. Minority owners will receive a net dividend of 13.02 dinars per share.
At the end of last year, the Serbian government decided to retain control of Telekom Srbija after all offers from potential investors for the privatisation of the incumbent telco were deemed unsatisfactory.
The Serbian company is the majority owner of the second-largest telecom operator in Bosnia, Telekom Srpske, and controls also Montenegrin mobile operator M:Tel.
In Serbia, a market of around 7.2 million, Telekom Srbija competes in the mobile segment with Vip Mobile, a unit of Telekom Austria, and the local arm of Norway's Telenor. In the fixed-line segment, it shares the market wit Serbia Broadband (SBB), controlled by U.S. private equity firm KKR.
