December 15 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's biggest telecommunications operator - state-controlled Telekom Slovenije [LJE:TLSG] expects to generate a consolidated net profit of 20.1 million euro ($21.3 million) on operating revenues of 680.8 million euro in 2023.
The group targets earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) of 206.2 million euro next year if electricity prices and the conditions on the financial markets remain unchanged, Telekom Slovenije said in a filing with the Ljubljana Stock Exchange on Wednesday.
According to the plan, Telekom Slovenije plans 205.5 million euro investments in 2023 for the expansion and upgrades of the fibre optic access network and a continued development and modernisation of the mobile network, it said.
"In spite of the planned growth, a focus on development, continued cost optimisation of operations and diligent risk management, the biggest factors for key financial indicators over the next year will be the uncertainty on the electricity price markets and the rise of interest rates," the company noted.
Last month, Telekom Slovenije said its consolidated net profit rose 9% on the year to 39.0 million euro ($41.5 million) in the first nine months of 2022.
The company's shares closed down 1.21% at 48.80 euro on the Ljubljana bourse on Wednesday. Its shares traded at 48.60 euro, up 0.41%, by 1301 CET on Thursday on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange.
