LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), March 11 (SeeNews) – Telekom Slovenije [LJE:TLSG] said its consolidated net profit amounted to 68.1 million euro ($75.7 million) in 2015 compared to 1.5 million euro a year earlier.
In 2015, Telekom Slovenije merged its Macedonian unit ONE with Telekom Austria’s Vip Operator, maintaining a 45% share in the newly established company.
The deal signed by the two telcos specifies the conditions of Telekom Slovenije’s withdrawal from the company within three years. The total effect of this futures contract and derecognition of One on the net results is 30.4 million euro, Telekom Slovenije said in a filing with the Ljubljana bourse on Thursday.
Telekom Slovenije’s consolidated EBITDA jumped 18% on the year in 2015, while the EBITDA margin improved by 22.2 percentage points to 27.5% in 2015.
The Group’s net sales revenue reached 729.5 million euro in 2015, down 4% compared to 2014, however the figures cannot be directly compared as One’s results were included in the Group’s consolidated results until July 31, the telco explained. Accordingly, the revenue in Macedonia was 31 million euro lower in 2015, which affected all of the Group’s revenue categories.
“In the fixed segment, the Telekom Slovenije Group compensated for the decline in revenue from traditional voice telephone services in Slovenia, caused by the migration to mobile services and VoIP, with increased revenue from IT services, which doubled in 2015 compared to 2014, amounting to 26.6 million euro," it added. The Telekom Slovenije Group generated 747.2 million euro in operating revenue in 2015.
Telekom Slovenije also recorded a growth in its user base compared to 2014. The number of its mobile users increased by 3% in 2015, the number of TV connections by 6%, and the number of fixed broadband connections by 4%. For the purpose of comparison, connections from the Macedonian company One were excluded from the data, the telco noted.
Last month, the Group said it expects its consolidated net profit to total 34 million euro in 2016, earmarking 156 million euro for investments.
