May 5 (SeeNews) - Telekom Romania Mobile, an indirect subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, said on Friday that its adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) stood at 3.5 million euro ($3.9 million) during the first three months of 2023, remaining relatively stable year-on-year.
The company’s adjusted EBITDA excluded increased energy costs and Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) impact, Telekom Romania Mobile said in a press release.
The telecommunications company’s total revenues inched down by 2% on the year in the first three months of 2023, to 69 million euro.
At the end of the first quarter of 2023, Telekom Romania’s customer base tallied 4.06 million, increasing by 6.3% year-on-year and marking the 6th consecutive quarter to register annual growth. The company had 1.86 million postpaid subscribers, up by an annual 6.2% and 2.21 million prepaid users, up by 6.4% on the year.
The company launched new digital end-to-end flows on its website and application, as well as a new integrated automated acquisition system and a simplified digital transition from prepaid to postpaid services.
In 2022, Telekom Romania Mobile’s EBITDA increased by 25% on the year, to 38 million euro.
In 2021, Greece’s Hellenic Telecommunications Organization (OTE) purchased Telekom Mobile Romania from its then parent company, Telekom Communications Romania.
