LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), October 17 (SeeNews) – A1 Telekom Austria said on Wednesday its wireless unit A1 Slovenija, previously known as Si.mobil, posted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of 10.2 million euro ($13.9 million) in the third quarter of 2018, down 4.2% on the year.
A1 Slovenija’s revenues decreased by an annual 3.3% to 53.7 million euro in the July-September period, while EBIT fell 13.0% to 3.1 million euro, Telekom Austria said in an interim financial statement.
Total revenues declined mostly due to a 4.8% drop in mobile service revenues, which was mitigated by decreased total costs and expenses, the company explained.
"In the third quarter of 2018, the Slovenian telecommunications market was still characterised by fierce competition in the mobile market, with a focus on convergent tariffs with high discounts and competitive mobile tariffs including high data allowances," Telekom Austria said.
The number of wireless subscribes of A1 Slovenija totalled 695,100 at the in the third quarter, down 2.1% on the year.
