LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), February 13 (SeeNews) – A1 Telekom Austria Group said its wireless unit A1 Slovenija, previously known as Si.mobil, posted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of 38.1 million euro ($43.0 million) last year, down 6.1% on 2017.
A1 Slovenija’s revenues decreased by an annual 0.9% to 214.1 million euro in 2018, while EBIT fell 15.2% to 8.9 million euro, the group said in its 2018 financial statement on Tuesday.
On quarterly comparison basis, A1 Slovenija’s EBITDA increased 21.1% to 9.2 million euro.
“In the fourth quarter of 2018, the Slovenian telecommunications market was still characterized by fierce competition in the mobile market, with a focus on convergent tariffs with high discounts and competitive mobile tariffs including high data allowances,” A1 Telekom Austria said.
Total revenues increased by 4.2% year-on-year in the fourth quarter, driven by increased equipment revenues and higher other operating income, the company explained.
The number of wireless subscribes of A1 Slovenija totalled 697.1 million at the end of the fourth quarter, down 0.9% on the year.
