July 19 (SeeNews) - Telekom Austria said the earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of its Bulgarian unit - A1 Bulgaria, rose by an annual 9.7% to 67.6 million euro ($78.3 million) in the first half of 2018.
A1 Bulgaria’s total revenues rose 5.2% year-on-year to 217.5 million euro in the first half of the year, Telekom Austria said in an interim financial statement.
The number of A1 Bulgaria's wireless subscribers declined by 3.1% year-on-year to 3.97 million at the end of June.
In Bulgaria, a country of some 7 million people, Mobiltel competes with the local unit of Norway's Telenor and the Bulgarian Telecommunications Company (BTC), which operates under the brand name Vivacom.
