October 25 (SeeNews) - Telekom Austria said the earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of its Bulgarian unit Mobiltel rose by an annual 3.9% to 104.4 million euro ($123.0 million) on a proforma basis in the first nine months of the year.
The revenues of Mobiltel, which operates under the Mtel brand, rose 5.2% year-on-year to 319.1 million euro in the January-September period, the Austrian telco group said in a statement.
The company's EBITDA margin declined to 32.7% in the review period from 33.1% the year before.
In the third quarter alone, the company's EBITDA rose by 18.5% to 42.8 million euro, while revenues added 5.5% to 112.3 million euro.
Total mobile subscribers fell by an annual 1.5% in the third quarter of 2017.
Mobiltel's main competitors are Norway's Telenor and the Bulgarian Telecommunications Company (BTC) operating under the brand name Vivacom.
