SOFIA (Bulgaria), September 16 (SeeNews) – Telecom Austria Group has appointed a new CEO at its Bulgarian subsidiary and an interim CEO at its unit in Serbia, the company said on Monday.
Thanasis Katsiroumpas will step in as the new CEO of Bulgaria's Mobiltel as of October 1. His place as a CEO of Vip mobile in Serbia will be taken temporarily by CFO Andreas Graf, the Austrian telecoms group said in a statement.
The changes take place after Andreas Maierhofer, the former CEO of Mobiltel, decided not to renew his recently expired job contract.
Katsiroumpas will also take over the responsibilities of Mobiltel’s marketing executive, Martin Lippautz, who leaves the company at his request. Mobiltel’s board of directors will now be reduced to three members.
Thanasis Katsiroumpas has over 20 years of experience in telecommunications. He has served as CEO of Globul, the second largest mobile operator in Bulgaria.
