December 6 (SeeNews) - Telecommunications operators from the European Union member states and the Western Balkan countries signed an agreement that will make it possible in 2023 to gradually reduce, and later on scrap roaming charges, the Serbian government said on Tuesday.
Reducing roaming costs with EU countries will lead to better conditions for cooperation and incentives for business and tourism, the government said in a press release.
In July 2021, leaders of the countries of the Western Balkans - Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo - agreed to abolish roaming charges.
