ZAGREB (Croatia), July 17 (SeeNews) – Swedish telecommunications group Tele2 said on Wednesday its Croatian wireless unit recorded EBITDA of 196 million Swedish crowns ($20.9 million/18.6 million euro) in the first half of 2019, sharply up from 91 million crowns in the like period of last year.
Tele2 Croatia’s net sales increased 12.6% on the year to 994 million crowns in the first half, the parent company said in an interim financial report.
Capital expenditures excluding spectrum and leases of Tele2 in Croatia increased to 51 million crowns in the first six months of the year from 46 million crowns in the like period of 2018.
Tele2 Croatia marketing focused on unlimited smartphone offers with attractive hardware bundles and unlimited mobile broadband.
Earlier this year, United Group, a leading multi-play telecommunications and media services provider in Southeast Europe (SEE) bought Tele2 for 220 million euro.
In Croatia, a market of around 4.3 million people, Tele2 Croatia competes with the local arm of A1 Telekom Austria Group - A1 Hrvatska, and with the wireless arm of Hrvatski Telekom.
