ZAGREB (Croatia), April 23 (SeeNews) – Swedish telecommunications group Tele2 said on Monday its Croatian wireless unit recorded EBITDA of 52 million Swedish crowns ($6.1 million/5 million euro) in the first quarter 2018, sharply up from 25 million crowns a year earlier.
Tele2 Croatia’s net sales increased 20.6% on the year to 433 million crowns in the three months through March, while its EBIT soared to 27 million crowns from 3 million crowns in the same period last year, the parent company said in an interim financial report.
In the first three months of 2018, Tele2 Croatia added 56,000 customers year-on-year, increasing its customer base to 844,000.
The company's capital expenditures in Croatia increased to 11 million crowns in the first three months of the year from 7 million crowns in the same period of 2017.
During Q1 2018, Tele2 insourced six additional stores from partners and now has 12 own stores in nine Croatian cities.
In Croatia, a country of 4.3 million, Tele2 competes with Vipnet, a subsidiary of Telekom Austria, and the mobile arm of Hrvatski Telekom.
