SKOPJE (Macedonia), July 11 (SeeNews) – Macedonia's finance ministry said on Wednesday it signed a grant agreement worth 4.6 million euro ($5.4 million) with the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) to finance a project to improve wastewater treatment in the municipality of Gostivar, in the west of the country.
The total amount that will be invested to improve the water supply and sewage infrastructure in Gostivar is 7.2 million euro, the finance ministry said in a press release, following the singing of the agreement.
German development bank KfW is the administrator of the grant funds and will put forward 250,000 euro for the project, the ministry said, adding that the funding will be complemented by a 1.7 million euro government loan and a 682,000 euro investment by the municipality of Gostivar.
The KfW will soon allocate other grant funds for public utility projects in the municipalities of Radovis and Kavadarci, the statement added.
