July 9 (SeeNews) - Slovenian genetics company GenePlanet said on Monday it closed an agreement to sell a minority stake in its capital to Swiss-based JF Investments AG for 10 million euro ($11.8 million).
GenePlanet will use the funds to expand its business to Asia and to open an office in the UK, the company said in a statement.

Moreover, the funds will help GenePlanet to develop its Health Intelligence digital health engagement platform that improves the health, vitality and well-being of people through a personalised prevention programme, the company said.
"The most important asset people have is their health and we believe that our Health Intelligence platform will help our customers to live a healthier lifestyle," the CEO of GenePlanet, Marko Bitenc, said in the statement.
GenePlanet is specialised in genetic testing and related advanced molecular techniques. The company is recognised by offering personalised DNA analyses and it commercialises its services and products in over 30 countries worldwide.
