SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), May 25 (SeeNews) – Croatia's government said on Thursday that several state-run companies of strategic importance for the country will be instructed to transfer 60% of their 2016 net profit into the state budget.
The instruction will not pertain to a few companies including state-run road operator Hrvatske Ceste, motorway operator HAC and the Croatian Postal Bank (HPB), the government announced during its weekly session streamed live.
The operators of the airports in Dubrovnik, Split, Pula, Zadar, Zagreb, Osijek, Rijeka and Mali Losinj are also excluded from the decision.
In May last year, the former Croatian government removed eight big companies from its list of firms of strategic importance for the country and banned from being offered for privatisation. These include flag carrier Croatia Airlines, operator of sea marinas ACI, port operator Luka Rijeka, lender Croatia Banka, fertilizer producer Petrokemija, insurer Croatia Osiguranje, food, beverage and drug producer Podravka and electrical concern Koncar.
