BELGRADE (Serbia), April 27 (SeeNews) – Serbian state-run rail freight operator Srbija Kargo opened a tender for the refurbishment of 31 electric locomotives series 461, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said on Thursday.
The project will be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the EBRD towards the cost of the Trans-European transport Corridor X, the bank said in an invitation for tenders posted on its website.
Srbija Kargo will adopt a two-stage tendering procedure to ensure that all tenders conform to the same acceptable technical standard and meet the minimum operating and performance requirements, the EBRD said.
Tenderer’s first stage technical proposals must be delivered on or before June 12, the bank added.
The priced proposals, i.e. second stage tenders, must be delivered on or before the time and date of the submission deadline, which shall be notified in writing by Srbija Kargo, the EBRD noted.
Corridor X is projected to connect Salzburg in Austria to the Greek port of Thessaloniki, passing through Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Macedonia.
