February 22 (SeeNews) - A Spanish manufacturer of pipes for the water utility sector plans to build a factory in Bulgaria which will supply the countries from the Balkan region - a project worth 50 million euro (53.2 million euro), the Bulgarian economy ministry said.
The company has already purchased a land plot for the plant's construction, the ministry said in a press release on Tuesday, without providing further details or the name of the company.
A ministry press official declined a SeeNews request for more information on the matter, saying that nothing more can be disclosed at present.
There is potential interest from Spanish defence firms, including information technology and defence systems company Indra, to partner with Bulgarian firms on joint European Defence Fund projects, the ministry said in the statement.
