December 7 (SeeNews) - Spanish developer Spadevel will develop an eight million euro ($11.7 million) apartment building in Romania's capital Bucharest, the project's manager, engineering consultancy group Louis Berger, said on Friday.
"The French-American engineering consultancy group Louis Berger has signed at the end of November 2007 a 24-month Project Management contract with Spadevel (Spain) for the development of a residential ensemble in the centre of Bucharest," the Louis Berger Group said in a statement.
Construction will start in early 2008. Louis Berger will carry out the design review, procurement and supervision of works for the 67 apartment building.
The building will include a commercial area and apartments with a total built-up area of 11,000 square metres. It will have two basements, a ground floor, a mezzanine and seven floors including an underground parking lot for over 75 vehicles, the statement said.
Spadevel, a private Spanish developer acting on behalf of Spanish investors in real estate in Romania, is also planning to develop other similar projects in Bucharest, Louis Berger said without giving more details.
The Louis Berger Group is an independent private consulting group working in the fields of engineering, the environment, economics and development.
