March 26 (SeeNews) - Spanish e-mobility company Irizar will deliver 44 zero-emission electric buses to the Bulgarian coastal city of Burgas, the company said.
The first electric buses are expected to be delivered to Burgasbus, the public transport company that services the city of Burgas, in September, a statement published on the website of Irizar showed. The price of the deal was not disclosed.
The vehicles will be equipped with lithium-ion batteries.
Irizar will also provide 44 interoperable ECI-100 chargers produced by Spanish power conversion systems maker Jema Energy, part of Irizar Group. The chargers have a 100 kW smart charging system that will charge the vehicles in three hours.
Earlier this month, Burgasbus signed a 36.5 million levs ($22.0 million/18.7 million euro) contract for the purchase of 34 new electric buses with a tie-up between Bulgarian companies Fire Safety and Best Brokers.
