SOFIA (Bulgaria), October 26 (SeeNews) – Drug maker Sopharma [BUL:3JR] led blue-chip gainers on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) on Thursday, bourse data showed.
Sopharma shares closed 2.02% higher at 4.049 levs ($2.43/2.07 euro). The company was the most traded blue-chip on Thursday as 13,544 shares changed hands at an average price of 4.08 levs.
Earlier on Thursday, US-based pharmaceutical company Achieve Life Sciences said it entered into an exclusive supply agreement with Bulgarian drug maker Sopharma for the manufacture of cytisine active pharmaceutical ingredient and finished tablets.
The blue-chip SOFIX index rose by 0.23% to 655.90 points on Thursday after a 0.28% increase on Wednesday.
The broader BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the BSE, closed 0.20% higher at 128.32 points, after closing flat on Wednesday.
The BG-REIT index, which tracks the performance of real estate investment trusts, added 0.31% to 113.64 points on Thursday. On Wednesday, the index closed 0.26% lower.
The BG TotalReturn30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, edged up 0.07% to 537.61 points, following a 0.27% decrease on Wednesday.
Trading turnover on BSE’s regulated market fell to 260,700 levs on Thursday from 1.3 million levs on Wednesday.
Financial and insurance group Eurohold Bulgaria [BUL:4EH] fell the most among blue chips on Thursday, closing 5.62% lower at 1.226 levs.
