August 15 (SeeNews) - The blue-chip SOFIX index of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange posted a decline in a fourth consecutive trading session, closing 0.21% lower at 631.17 points on Wednesday, bourse data shows.
The SOFIX index lost a total of 1.65% in the last four trading sessions, according to bourse data.
Resort operator Albena [BUL:6AB] fell the most among blue chips on Wednesday, ending the session 3.77% lower at 51.0 levs. Trade in Albena shares generated a turnover of 58,169 levs, equal to 30% of the total regulated market turnover during the trading session.
Trading turnover remained significantly lower than the average so far this year, decreasing to 195,670 levs on Wednesday from 525,038 levs on Tuesday.
The average daily turnover on the Sofia bourse amounted to some 1.9 million levs in the first seven months of the year.
Diversified group Stara Planina Hold [BUL:5SR] was the top blue-chip gainer on Wednesday, adding 2.96% to a closing price of 6.95 levs.
The wider BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, edged down 0.03% to 122.24 points, despite an 11.63% rise in the share price of tobacco group Bulgartabac Holding [BUL:57B], which closed at 14.4 levs. Bulgartabac Holding bounced back from an 11.03% drop in the previous trading session.
The BG-REIT index, which tracks the performance of real estate investment trusts (REITs), gained 0.10% to 115.63 points, following a single deal in Bulgarian Real Estate Fund REIT [BUL:5BU] shares, priced at 1.91 levs per share, or 0.53% higher than the company's last closing price.
The only other BG-REIT component, which traded on Wednesday, was Advance Terrafund REIT [BUL:6A6], which ended the session unchanged at 2,07 levs.
The BG TotalReturn30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, fell 0.16% to 524.30 points.
