November 28 (SeeNews) - The Bulgarian Stock Exchange's blue-chip SOFIX index ended a two-day losing run, as shares in Central Cooperative Bank (CCB) [BUL:4CF] erased part of recent losses.
The SOFIX closed 0.26% higher at 584.72 points, as CCB shares gained 3.91% to 1.46 levs. However, CCB shares are still 6.71% down in November.
CCB's majority owner - diversified group Chimimport [BUL:6C4], posted the second sharpest rise among blue chips on Wednesday, of 1.63%.
Total trading turnover plunged to some 283,000 levs ($163,000/145,000 euro) on Wednesday from 6.9 million levs in the preceding trading session.
The wider BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, ended the session 0.29% higher at 114.00 points, backed by gains from several companies, which reported their consolidated nine-month results earlier during the day.
The operator of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange [BUL:BSO] was the top gainer during the session, adding 16.33% to 5.7 levs. The company's consolidated net profit grew sharply to 3.2 million levs in the January-September period from 127,000 levs the year before, after it more than tripled its revenue, thanks to the acquisition of the Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange (IBEX) earlier this year.
Printing and advertising firm Billboard [BUL:5BP] followed with a 9.93% rise to 0.332 levs. The company reported a consolidated net profit of 496,000 levs in the first nine months of the year, up from 300,000 levs in the like period of 2017.
Diversified group Industrial Holding Bulgaria (IHB) [BUL:4ID] posted the third sharpest rise, of 6.12% to 1.04 levs. IHB more than tripled its nine-month consolidated net profit to 11.1 million levs, on the back of a rise in revenue.
The BGTR30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, rose 0.58% to 486.03 points, backed by the Sofia bourse operator and IHB.
The BGREIT index, which tracks the performance of real estate investment trusts (REITs), gained 0.10% to 116.60 points, solely due to a 0.53% increase in the share price of Bulgarian Real Estate Fund REIT [BUL:5BU].
