June 19 (SeeNews) - The Bulgarian Stock Exchange BGREIT index, which tracks real estate investment trusts, gained 0.69% on Wednesday hitting an all-time high of 124.01 points.
The BGREIT has set seven record highs so far this month, the previous of which of 123.47 points set on June 12.
The index was backed by Advance Terrafund REIT [BUL:6A6] and Bulgarian Real Estate Fund REIT [BUL:5BU], which gained 2.54% and 0.99%, respectively, on Wednesday.
Advance Terrafund REIT reported earlier this week that it bought 74 hectares of agricultural land at an average price of 5,420 euro in May, and sold 213 ha of farm land at an average price of 6,902 euro per ha throughout the month.
Advance Terrafund REIT was also the top gainer among members of the blue-chip SOFIX index, the wider BGBX40 index and the equally-weighted BGTR30 index.
The SOFIX index closed 0.33% higher at 579.98 points, as other major gainers included Sirma Group Holding [BUL:SKK] and Industrial Holding Bulgaria [BUL:4ID], which added 2.21% and 0.99%, respectively.
The BGBX40, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the stock exchange in Sofia, advanced 0.22% to 115.46 points, while the BGTR30, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, rose 0.16% to 505.57 points.
Total regulated market turnover dropped to a major low of just 59,000 levs ($34,000/30,000 euro) on Wednesday.
