December 14 (SeeNews) - Municipally-owned Sofia subway system operator Metropoliten said it has signed a 3.2 million levs ($1.8 million/1.6 million euro) contract for the supply of spare parts with local company Transportna Avtomatika.
Transportna Avtomatika will be responsible for the delivery of spare parts for 81-717/714 and 81-740/741 type metro railcars, as well as spare parts for the subway's automation equipment, Metropoliten said in a notice last week.
Transportna Avtomatika submitted the only bid in the tender for the contract.
Transportna Avtomatika has been a leader on the Bulgarian railway automation market for 16 years, with over 50 completed projects so far.
