April 29 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian hotel operator Sofia Hotel Balkan [BUL:SHB] said that it recorded a standalone net loss of 223,000 levs ($120,100/114,000 euro) in the first three months of 2022, compared with a net loss of 899,000 levs a year earlier.
The non-consolidated revenue of Sofia Hotel Balkan, which is running a five-star hotel of the same name in central Sofia, rose to over 2.7 million levs in the first quarter of this year from 1 million levs in the same period of 2021, the company said in an interim financial report on Thursday.
The revenue from overnights increased by 925,000 levs on an annual comparison basis to 1.3 million levs in the January-March period of 2022.
The hotel operator's expenses went up to 3 million levs from 2.1 million levs, mainly due to higher expenses for hired services.
The assets of Sofia Hotel Balkan edged down to 147.6 million levs at the end of March from 147.9 million levs a year earlier.
