May 15 (SeeNews) - The Bulgarian Stock Exchange blue-chip SOFIX index closed 0.52% higher at points on Wednesday, backed by a rebound in the share price of software group Sirma Group Holding [BUL:SKK] and diversified group Chimimport [BUL:6C4].
The SOFIX is 1.51% down so far this month, and 4.73% lower year-to-date.
Sirma Group Holding gained most among blue chips on Wednesday, closing 3.57% higher at 0.725 levs. Sirma Group Holding erased over 9% of its share price over the course of last week.
Chimimport shares advanced 3.51% to 1.77 levs on Wednesday. The group lost 4.74% of its share price in the preceding two trading sessions.
The wider BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, added 0.27% to 113.32 points, backed by a 10% rise in the share price of fertilisers producer Neochim [BUL:3NB]. However, Neochim shares are still 8.33% down for the month.
The BGTR30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, increased 0.46% to 497.44 points. The Sofia exchange operator - Bulgarian Stock Exchange [BUL:BSO] rose most among BGTR30 components, gaining 6.25% to 5.10 levs.
The BGREIT index, which tracks real estate investment trusts, advanced 0.52% to 120.21 points. Advance Terrafund REIT [BUL:6A6] gained 2.25%, while Bulgarian Real Estate Fund REIT [BUL:5BU] added 0.53%.
Total trading turnover on the regulated market plunged to 544,000 levs ($312,000/278,000 euro) on Wednesday from 2.7 million levs on Tuesday.
The bulk of trading turnover on Wednesday was formed by 26 deals for 242,874 Advance Terrafund REIT shares, worth a total of some 429,000 levs.
Earlier on Wednesday, Advance Terrafund REIT said that it has purchased 69 hectares of agricultural land at an average price of 5,241 euro ($5,897) per ha in April. The company did not make any land sales during the month.
