Sofia city signs 33.5 mln euro tram deal with Poland's PESA Bydgoszcz

SOFIA (Bulgaria), June 21 (SeeNews) – The Bulgarian municipality of Sofia said on Friday it has signed a 33.5 million euro ($44 million) deal with Polish railway vehicles manufacturing company PESA Bydgoszcz for the supply of 20 new low-floor trams.

The contract also covers the supply of diagnostic equipment, spare parts and training, the municipality said in a press release.

The deal will be funded by Bulgaria’s environment ministry under the EU-backed operational programme Environment 2007-2013.
