December 11 (SeeNews) - The blue-chip SOFIX index of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange fell for a second straight day on Wednesday, closing 0.57% lower at 542.96 points, bourse data showed.
The SOFIX was dragged down by a 3.52% drop in the share price of Holding Varna [BUL:52A], which ended the session at 38.4 levs ($21.8/ 19.6 euro), while Central Cooperative Bank (CCB) [BUL:4CF] followed with a 1.94% drop to 1.52 levs.
Doverie United Holding [BUL:5DOV] led Wednesday's gainers, as its shares ended the session 2.56% higher at 3.20 levs.
Total daily regulated market turnover jumped to some 3.3 million levs from just 326,000 levs on Tuesday, boosted by 38 deals in the shares of diversified group Doverie United Holding [BUL:5DOV] worth a total of 1.3 million levs.
The wider BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, fell 0.08% to 108.46 points, mostly hurt by 4.76% drop in the share price of cigarette filters manufacturer Yuri Gagarin [BUL:4PX]. The index did not manage to end the trading session on green territory despite a 6.55% rise in the share price of Odessos Shiprepair Yard [BUL:5ODE].
The BGTR30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, was the only index to close higher on Wednesday - it edged up by 0.04% to 494.83 points, as Trace Group Hold [BUL:T57] led gainers with a 3.65% increase in the price of its shares.
The BGREIT index, which tracks the performance of real estate investment trusts, lost 0.45% to 130.14 points.
On Tuesday, the SOFIX ended a three-day winning streak, closing 0.32% lower.
