SOFIA (Bulgaria), August 4 (SeeNews) – Trading in shares of six companies generated 72% of the turnover on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) on Friday, bourse data showed.
Total trading turnover on the Sofia bourse jumped to 52.4 million levs ($31.7 million/26.8 million euro) on Friday from 32.7 million levs on Thursday.
Turnover has been rising since Wednesday, when it soared to 13 million levs from 1.5 million levs on Tuesday.
Trading in shares of Balkan and Sea Properties [BUL:5H4], Galata Investment Company [BUL:GTH], Holding Nov Vek [BUL:6N3], Holding Varna [BUL:5V2], Regala Invest [BUL:RGL] and Velgraf Asset Management [BUL:1VX] generated a combined turnover of 37.8 million levs during Friday's trading session.
Galata Investment Company [BUL:GTH] generated the largest turnover on Friday, of 12.4 million levs, as 8.3 million shares of the company changed hands at an average price of 1.5 levs.
Central Cooperative Bank [BUL:4CF] was the most traded blue-chip company, as 287,943 of its shares were traded at an average price of 1.75 levs. The company also led the blue-chip gainers on Friday, as it closed 2.86% higher at 1.8 levs.
The blue-chip SOFIX index edged down 0.01% to 720.06 points, after increasing 0.70% on Thursday.
The broader BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the BSE, grew by 0.10% to 136.35 points, after rising 0.72% on Thursday.
The BG-REIT index, which tracks the performance of real estate investment trusts, fell 0.39% to 115.99 points on Friday. On Thursday, the index added 1.95%.
The BG TotalReturn30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, decreased 0.52% to 550.39 points, after closing 0.91% higher on Thursday.
Bulgarian fertilizer producer Neochim [BUL:3NB] fell the most among the blue chips, as it closed 4.44% lower at 57.1 levs.
