November 26 (SeeNews) - The benchmark SOFIX index of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange lost 0.68% on Monday amid a tough session for blue-chip lenders.
The SOFIX dropped 4.03 points to an end value of 584.90 points, as First Investment Bank (Fibank) shares lost most among blue chips. Fibank shares closed 3.36% lower at 3.45 levs.
Diversified group Chimimport [BUL:6C4] and its subsidiary Central Cooperative Bank (CCB) [BUL:4CF] followed with decreases of 3.16% and 1.06%, respectively.
Earlier this month, said that it will undertake a comprehensive assessment of six banks in Bulgaria, including Fibank and CCB, as part of the process of establishing close cooperation on supervision with the country's central bank.
Since then, CCB shares have erased 10.3% of their value, while Fibank has lost 4.2% of its share price.
The wider BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, ended the session 0.45% lower at 114.38 points.
Diversified group Synergon Holding [BUL:6S7] fell most among BGBX40 components, by 3.96% to 0.97 levs, followed by Fibank and Chimimport.
Cellulose producer Svilosa [BUL:3MZ] was among the few BGBX40 gainers on Monday, adding 0.94% to 5.35 levs. On Friday, the Svilosa's share price grew by 6% after it announced that A.R.U.S. Holding has sweetened its buyout bid for the remaining 6.74% stake in the company it does not already own to 5.5 levs per share.
The initial offer, priced at 4.7 levs per share, was temporarily suspended by the financial regulator earlier this month. The Financial Supervision Commission has not yet allowed the updated buyout bid.
The BGTR30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, shedded 0.45% to 486.55 points, sharing the same top three decliners as the BGBX40.
The BGREIT index, which tracks the performance of real estate investment trusts (REITs), lost 0.15% to 117.17 points.
Bulgarian Real Estate Fund REIT [BUL:5BU] fell 0.52% to 1.90 levs, while Advance Terrafund REIT [BUL:6A6] saw a 0.26% decrease to 1.955 levs.
Total trading turnover amounted to some 433,000 levs ($251,000/221,000 euro) on Monday, slightly up from 406,000 levs on Friday.
