January 17 (SeeNews) - The four main indices of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) closed lower on Tuesday, chiefly dragged down by decreases in blue-chip index member First Investment Bank, or Fibank, [BUL:FIB] and aluminium producer Alcomet [BUL:ALCM], bourse data showed.
The blue-chip SOFIX index erased 0.51% to 616.48 points, as a 3.36% loss in Fibank to 2.30 levs was compounded by a 2.43% decline in fertiliser maker Neochim [BUL:NEOH] to 40.20 levs.
Fibank and Neochim also drove down the BGTR30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight. The index finished the session with the biggest decline, of 0.62% to 742.91 points, further weighed down by a 2.30% loss in Sopharma Trading [BUL:SFT] to 5.94 levs.
Weakening the BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, Alcomet tumbled 4.22% to 7.95 levs. The BGBX40 went down 0.52% to 141.77 points, additionally impacted by a 3.23% drop in poultry producer Gradus [BUL:GR6] to 1.50 levs.
The BGREIT index, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, closed with a decrease of 0.43% to 185.49 points, after Bulgarian Real Estate Fund REIT [BUL:BREF], also a blue-chip constituent, dipped 1.92% to 2.04 levs.
Tuesday saw the trading debut of the BSE's latest member, honey-based products maker Mellifera [BUL:MELI], but no trades in the stock were made.
The highest turnover on the day, amounting to 52,642 levs, was generated by diversified group Zarneni Hrani [BUL:ZHBG], which closed 3.03% higher at 0.17 levs.
Total turnover on the main market of the Sofia bourse slipped to 339,401 levs ($187,505/173,533 euro) on Tuesday from 574,257 levs on Monday.
