January 3 (SeeNews) - Indices tracking Bulgarian Stock Exchange-listed companies ended lower on Thursday in another session market by limited trading turnover.
The regulated market of the Sofia bourse saw deals worth 276,000 levs ($161,000/141,000 euro) on Thursday, slightly up from 169,000 levs on Wednesday.
The blue-chip SOFIX index logged back-to-back losing sessions, dropping 0.13% to 585.33 points on Thursday, following a 1.40% decline in the first trading session for this year.
Software developer Sirma Group Holding [BUL:SKK] was the top decliner among SOFIX members, losing 2.20% to 0.89 levs.
Sirma Group Holding also led decliners among components of the BGBX40 index and the BGTR30 index.
The BGBX40, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, ended 0.11% lower at 114.57 points, while the BGTR30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, shedded 0.18% to 491.70 points.
Another major blue-chip decliner was lender Central Cooperative Bank [BUL:4CF], which extended its losses from the start of the year. CCB shares closed 0.74% lower at 1.34 levs on Thursday. In the preceding trading session CCB shares ended 4.26% lower at 1.35 levs - their lowest close since November 2016.
The lender's shares have been under pressure since November 2018, when the European Central Bank said it will undertake a comprehensive assessment of six banks in Bulgaria, including CCB, as part of the process of establishing close cooperation on supervision with the country's central bank.
The BGREIT index, which tracks real estate investment trusts listed both on the regulated market and BaSE Alternative Market of the Sofia bourse, lost 0.11% to 120.94 points on Thursday. The BGREIT ended 2018 at an all-time high of 121.07 points and closed unchanged in the first session in 2019.
