August 10 (SeeNews) - Most indices of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) closed in positive territory on Wednesday, as turnover jumped on trading in energy and insurance group Eurohold Bulgaria [BUL:EUBG], bourse data showed.
The blue-chip SOFIX index rose the most, adding 1.09% to 617.13 points.
The SOFIX was buoyed by a 5.59% climb in IoT products maker Allterco [BUL:A4L] to 18.90 levs as well as a 2.97% increase in First Investment Bank, or Fibank, [BUL:FIB] to 2.08 levs. Allterco was also the second most liquid stock, generating about a quarter of the total turnover.
The most traded stock on Wednesday was diversified group Eurohold Bulgaria [BUL:EUBG]. As many as 455,500 of its shares were traded at an average price of 2.20 levs, generating turnover of just over 1 million levs ($528,370/511,290 euro).
Total turnover on the BSE's main market amounted to some 2.12 million levs on Wednesday, up from 1.55 million levs on Tuesday.
The gain in Allterco also helped push up both the the BGBX40 index, which tracks the bourse's 40 most traded shares, and the BGTR30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight.
The BGBX40 advanced 1.04% to 142.46 points, while the BGTR30 ended at 739.51 points, or 0.78% higher than the previous day.
The BGREIT index, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, was the only one to remain unchanged on Wednesday, finishing again at 185.17 points.
