SOFIA (Bulgaria), August 14 (SeeNews) – The stock indices of the Sofia bourse closed mostly higher on Thursday amid lower total turnover, stock exchange data indicated.
The blue-chip SOFIX index, which tracks the 15 most liquid shares on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE), added 0.02% to 538.35 points after ending 0.39% lower in the previous session.
The broader BGBX40, which includes the 40 most traded shares, rose 0.25% to 106.38 points after dropping 0.40% on Wednesday.
The bourse's total turnover on the regulated market fell to 161,600 levs ($110,400/82,600 euro) from 253,900 levs in the previous trading session.
On Thursday the Bulgarian stock exchange operator suspended trading in bonds issued by real estate investment trust (REIT) InterCapital Property Development [BUL:4IC].
The REIT said in a notice earlier in the day that it has missed an interest payment of 55,137 euro and a principal amortisation payment of 62,500 euro on the bond due on August 14 but intends to make the payments within 30 days.
First Investment Bank [BUL:5F4] was the top SOFIX gainer, closing 3.70% higher at 3.278 levs as 3,294 shares changed hands.
Industrial Holding Bulgaria [BUL:4ID] led the blue-chip decliners, ending 1.77% lower at 1.051 levs in a volume of 60 shares.
The BG-REIT index, which tracks the performance of the real estate investment trusts, was up 0.04% to 97.21 points after falling 0.39% on Wednesday.
The BG TotalReturn30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, fell 0.03% to 408.07 points after going up 0.04% on Wednesday.
