November 24 (SeeNews) - The blue-chip SOFIX index of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange closed lower on Wednesday, dragged down by a 2.56% decline in batteries manufacturer Monbat [BUL:MONB], bourse data showed.
A total of 2,391 Monbat shares traded at an average price of 5.7121 levs.

Monbat's losses weighed on the BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse. The index edged down 0.06% to 139.99 points.
The BGTR30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, added 0.37% to 670.89 points, mostly backed by a 8.26% increase in the shares of express delivery company Speedy [BUL:SPDY].
The BGREIT index, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, went down by 0.18% to 165.90 points due to a 0.93% decrease in the share price of Bulgarian Real Estate Fund REIT [BUL:BREF].
Total turnover on the BSE's main market fell to 3.8 million levs ($2.2 million/1.9 million euro) on Wednesday from 4.3 million levs on Tuesday.
The most traded company was National Investment Fund Dynamic [BUL:DYN]. As many as 98,000 shares in the company traded flat at an average price of 10.2000 levs, generating 999,600 levs of turnover.
