January 20 (SeeNews) - The blue-chip SOFIX index of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) rose by 0.47% to 634.56 points on Thursday, mainly backed by energy and finance group Eurohold Bulgaria [BUL:EUBG] which closed the trading session 6.03% higher, bourse data showed.
On Wednesday, Eurohold shares closed 7.20% lower.
A total of 8,000 Eurohold shares changed hands at an average price of 2.4600 levs on Thursday.
Eurohold's gains helped the BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, close higher. The index added 0.19% to 143.39 points.
The BGTR30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, lost 0.17% to 686.63 points, dragged down by a 3.74% drop in drug trader Sopharma Trading [BUL:SFT].
The BGREIT index, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, went up 0.37% to 168.15 points due to a 1.01% increase in the share price of Advance Terrafund REIT [BUL:ATER].
Total turnover on the BSE's main market fell sharply to 480,900 levs ($278,900/245,900 euro) from 1.7 million levs on Wednesday.
