November 30 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's unemployment rate was at its lowest level in 8 years in the third quarter of 2017, of 6.3%, the country's office of statistics said on Thursday.
In the third quarter of 2009, Slovenia's unemployment rate stood at 6.2%.
At the end of September this year, the number of unemployed persons was 66,000, unchanged from the second quarter, but 10.4% lower than in the same quarter of 2016, the statistical office said.
Among unemployed there were 43% men and 57% women.
There were 974,000 employed persons in Slovenia at the end of September, up 1.9% on the quarter and 5.5% more than in the 3rd quarter of 2016.
The number of employed persons was the highest since the 4th quarter of 2009, when it totaled 982,000.
