LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), March 11 (SeeNews) – Slovenia's external trade surplus expanded substantially to 159.8 million euro ($177.5 million) in January from 25.3 million euro in the same month of 2015, as exports rose and imports fell, data from the country's statistics office showed on Friday.
The country's exports rose 2.3% on the year to 1.85 billion euro, while imports dropped 5.2% to 1.69 billion euro in January, the office said in a statement.
Compared to December 2015, January's exports edged down 0.9%, while imports dropped 12.4%.
In January, four fifths of Slovenia’s trade in goods was generated in trade with EU member states - 79.3% of total exports and 79.5% of total imports.
