March 10 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's trade surplus decreased to 45.3 million euro ($48.1 million) in January from 102.4 million euro a year earlier, as imports grew faster than exports, the statistical office said on Friday.
A surplus in Slovania's trade in goods in January was recorded for the fourth straight year, the highest being in January 2016, the statistical office said in a statement.
January exports rose to 2.092 billion euro, 13.8% higher than a year earlier, while imports jumped 17.9% to 2.047 billion euro.
The European Union was Slovenia’s main trading partner in January, absorbing 1.6 billion euro of the country's exports and providing 1.6 billion euro of its imports.
