October 9 (SeeNews) - Slovenian car parts maker TPV Group plans to launch a research and development (R&D) centre at its factory in Kragujevac, in central Serbia, the president of the company, Marko Gorjuk, has said.
The centre will operate as a unit of the R&D division of TPV Group based in Slovenia's Novo Mesto and will hire mechanical engineering students from Serbia, Gorjuk said in a video file posted on the website of Serbian public broadcaster RTS on Sunday.

TPV Group has invested a total of 6 million euro in the factory in Kragujevac so far and plans to boost its investments in Serbia in the short term to increase the number of employees and build new facilities, RTS said.
The Slovenian company launched the Kragujevac factory as a greenfield investment in 2005. The number of employees at the factory has been increased to 100 from 70 and the list of its customers currently includes Renault, Skoda and Daimler.
TPV Group also operates five factories in Slovenia and has more than 1,200 employees. The R&D centre of the company focuses on design, virtual analysis (FEM), prototype manufacturing, testing, as well as definition of products and production process, data from the corporate website shows.
