June 21 (SeeNews) - Slovenian automotive supplier TPV said it has signed a deal with German car manufacturer BMW for the delivery of car parts which will be integrated into more than 6 million vehicles.
According to industry experts, the deal is the largest individual order in the history of the Slovenian automotive industry, TPV said in a statement on Wednesday.
TPV has been picked as exclusive supplier of structural chassis parts for BMW cars following a two year selection process and fierce international competition, it added.
Production is expected to start in a few years.
In order to meet BMW's demands, TPV said it plans to hire more than 200 new employees and significantly increase its production capacities, which will see more investments in automation and robotization.
TPV currently has over 1,200 employees in five production sites in Slovenia and one in Serbia. Its clients include Renault, Volkswagen, Faurecia, Mahle, Jaguar and others.
